空斩 is one of Shulk's 物理 arts in 异度神剑. It may inflict Break to an 敌人. If used from the enemy's side, it also inflicts Slow, reducing the enemy's movement and attack rate by 50%. The duration of Break and Slow depends on the art's level.

Future Connected
The advanced art book for 空斩 is obtainable from the Arts Manual Shop at the price of one Arts Coin. Master art books are not available within Future Connected.
In Super Smash Bros.
空斩 appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Shulk's up special move and main form of recovery. It should be noted that 空斩 in 异度神剑 does not get as much height as it does in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. In this game, Shulk leaps high into the air and does a 斩击, but if the special button is pressed again immediately after the first 斩击, Shulk will perform a second, sideway 斩击, that gives him a small boost in height and horizontal distance. The 空斩 does a total of 11.5% of damage at its strongest (if both slashes hit) and 10.5% at its weakest. A second 斩击 does not exist in 异度神剑, but it may be a subtle reference to 空斩 being capable of inflicting two status effects. Also, the second 斩击 is how Shulk performs the attack in 异度神剑 (leaping into the air then striking with a sideway 斩击). If Shulk has Monado Jump active when he uses 空斩, the vertical distance will become greater.
