Alcamoth

Alcamoth, or the Imperial Capital Alcamoth (Japanese: 皇都アカモート, Kōto Akamōto, alt. Imperial City Achamoth; English dub: /ˈælkəˌmɒθ/), is the Royal Capital City of Bionis. Populated by the High Entia race, it is the biggest city in 异度神剑. The city hovers over Eryth Sea, and can only be reached from the teleporter at Centre Gate.

Most of Alcamoth is sheltered from weather, but its 晴天 domes allow the outside weather to be seen. The weather changes to a constant thunderstorm during the first visit to Prison Island, and returns to normal afterwards.

After the events at the Mechonis Core, it becomes impossible to Skip Travel into Alcamoth. The Centre Gate becomes the only way into the capital city. Skip travelling out of Alcamoth, however, remains possible.

The only way to enter the city after this point is to use the transporter from Centre Gate at Eryth Sea. The 敌人 here are large numbers of 特雷西亚, who used to be the city's pure-blooded High Entia population.

Future Connected

In Future Connected, Alcamoth is revisited one year after the events of the original game. The city, relocated during the world's reconstruction to just off the Bionis' 肩, is in ruins and abandoned save for roaming Fogbeasts. The final boss of Future Connected, the Fog King, is encountered in the Imperial Palace villa.

Etymology

It is possible that Alcamoth's name is derived from Achamoth, one of several terms from Gnosticism found in the game. Achamoth is the "Lower Sophia", the part that fell or was 被舍弃了 outside of the pleroma.
