A selection of 防具 in 异度神剑X
防具 is protective equipment worn on the body of characters. 防具 functions similarly in 异度神剑X as it did in 异度神剑. It can be equipped to party members and used to raise various stats in battle.
Much like 防具 in 异度神剑, it comes in different styles for different characters, although unlike in 异度神剑 most 防具 in 异度神剑X retains its 将军 appearance between characters of the same gender. However, there are differences between the two games. For example in 异度神剑X, lighter 防具 doesn't increase critical chances and damage.

Types of 防具
There are six different categories of 防具 in the game.
Casual Wear - 防具 in this category offers little in the way of defense, but usually has more points in resistances and more abilities. While most offer no upgrades, they typically contain one or more augment slots and may have 特殊 built in. Casual Wear cannot be obtained from 敌人. Casual wear has no level requirements.
BLADE制服/异刃装 - Made only by 樱庭重工, this class of 防具 offers comparable defense to light 防具 but with lessened resistance.
Light Wear - Slightly more defense than casual 防具, a little less resistances than casual 防具, and usually contain some abilities.
Medium Wear - Higher defense than Light 防具, with a penalty to 重力 Resistance and often fewer upgrades.
Heavy Wear - Much higher defenses than medium, but comes at a much greater penalty to 重力 Resistance and has limited upgrades.
Doll Wear - Gear made only by 樱庭重工 and 格拉纳达·GG, designed to empower Dolls while piloting one. Has more upgrades but has limited effectiveness in ground combat. Some pieces of Doll wear have built-in 芯片 which affect Doll, although Doll强化 can not be equipped in any empty augment slots.
Upgrading 防具
Built-in 芯片 on 防具 can be upgraded with the AM 终端's "Upgrade Battle Traits" function. Every 防具 piece has an "Upgrade x/x" stat. This indicates how many times the armor's abilities have been upgraded out of the maximum allowed. Salvaged 防具 has more upgrades than store-bought 防具.
Upgrading is done using 米拉矿石 and various materials dropped by some 敌人 such as Miran indigens or Ganglion troops (soldiers, Dolls and machines).
Resistances
Resistances are an 防具 Mechanic in 异度神剑X. These act as modifiers to incoming damage of the specified type. Positive resistance values decrease damage taken by that percentage, while negative resistance values increase damage taken.
The following resistances can be found on armor:

Tiers
In addition to type, 防具 is also 分裂 into tiers. 防具 that share a tier have the same level requirements in order to be equipped, and each tier is ten levels higher than the previous. 防具 from 六连星 have tiers that are named differently from 防具 tiers for 其它 军械公司. The 防具 tiers are:

Note: Level 60 防具 are not purchasable from the Shop 终端 and must instead be obtained from high-leveled 敌人.
Worn and Advanced
Salvaged 防具 may be "Worn" (can be equipped three levels earlier) or "Advanced" (slightly stronger but requires three more levels).
Worn 防具 is usually obtained from 敌人 in level ranges which end in 1 to 5 (1-5, 11-15, 21-25, etc.), while Advanced 防具 is usually obtained from 敌人 in level ranges that end in 6-0 (6-10, 16-20, 26-30, etc.).
It is possible for an 敌人 to, more rarely, drop 防具 from the tier above. For example, a level 32 敌人 could rarely drop an 高级英勇纵横护铠/勇者星际战甲改 piece (normally Worn Valor), and a level 59 敌人 could rarely drop an 究极帝君纵横护铠/豪华星际战甲极 piece (normally Advanced Reginal). This is the only way to obtain some Ultra Regal and 究极天河纵横护铠/永恒星际战甲极 sets, as there may not be any compatible 敌人 in the level range for Ultra Regal/Ultra Infinite.
Casual Wear
Casual Wear is named differently depending on the type of clothing. 工作服/工作装 and high-tech gear have different names from street clothes, while full-body clothing and headwear from 秘宝 Boxes have unique names. The 防具 tiers for Casual Wear are in ascending value:

- Ultra Limited/Upgraded 防具 II
- Supreme.
Color schemes of normal 防具 usually follow a trend beyond the lowest tier: purple for Combat, green for Vivid, blue for Valor, orange or brown for Forza, red for Reginal, black and dark red for Ultra Regal, and gold for Ultra Infinite. Casual Wear body and leg 防具 has four variants, while head 防具 has three.

Available after completing 第3章. Armour has generally high defense, and specializes in resistance to 物理 damage, with 芯片 to bolster 将军 stats such as HP and 近战攻击. It also produces BLADE制服/异刃装, with similar defense but alternative 芯片, and Doll wear, with much lower defensive traits and drive based 芯片.

It also produces Doll wear with much lower defensive stats and drive variations of their main 芯片.

Available after completing 第4章. Minimum Lv. 15, armour has generally high defense, with a focus on equal resistance to both 光束 and 以太 damage, at the cost of some 物理 resistance, and 芯片 with emphasis on situational support effects, such as Antispike
Candid and Credible
Available after completing 第5章. Minimum Lv. 15, armour has the best defense of any manufacturer, with singular focus on resistance to 雷电 damage, at the expense of resistance to 光束 attacks, and 芯片 which provide a balanced spread of offence, defence, and support.
奥菲·帕菲科技
Available after completing the mission 大岩要塞救援作战. Minimum Lv. 25, armour has the lowest defense of any manufacturer by a large margin, but the unique trait of providing resistance to 重力 damage, which all 其它 armour varieties struggle with, excluding Doll wear. Their 芯片 focus on Evasion based enhancements, and defensive buffs.

六连星
Available after completing the 牵绊任务 合作. Minimum Lv. 25, armour has unique naming conventions, and moderate defense, with a singular focus on 热能 resistance, at the cost of some 光束 resistance. Their 芯片 mirror the Wrothian's own war practice and are attack and aggro focused.
防具 Drops by 敌人
Most 敌人 species have ground 防具 as part of their drop tables. Every member of a species that drops 防具 will always drop pieces of the same 防具 set, as detailed below. Of these species, some drop 防具 that is unlocked later in the game or at a high AM Level. These species drop different 防具 if they are at or below the minimum purchasable level for the non-default 防具 sets. They are marked with ※, and only for the low-leveled variants. 普格机器人 and 鸵型机动炮台 drop ground 防具, but only if they are level 10 or below.

Fashion Gear
Fashion Gear allows a character to use the stats from one piece of 防具 while having the appearance of a different piece. Fashion Gear can be equipped from the Ground Gear menu by pressing X and selecting "Change Fashion Gear". Fashion Gear can be removed from within the Change Fashion Gear menu by pressing X and selecting "Remove Gear". 防具 cannot be equipped as Fashion Gear if the character does not meet the minimum level to wear it.
