A 武器 augment
芯片 are a type of equipment in 异度神剑X. They provide a benefit of some type, such as increasing a character or Doll's maximum Hit Points or making them harder to detect by 敌人. 芯片 are similar to Gems in 异度神剑.
Ground 防具, ground 武器, Doll 防具, Doll 武器, and Doll frames can have 芯片. 芯片 are not interchangeable between Doll gear and ground gear, but many 芯片 have equivalents for both ground gear and Doll gear.
Some 武器 and 防具 come with Battle Traits, built-in 芯片 which cannot be changed. 其它 have slots for 芯片 to be inserted into. After completing the mission 前进的意志, augment slots can be added to equipment in exchange for 米拉矿石.
芯片 can be equipped from the gear menu by highlighting a piece of equipment with an augment slot, pressing X on the controller, and selecting Set 芯片. 芯片 can be removed by pressing Y on the controller while inside the Set 芯片 menu.
芯片 can be obtained as rewards for some 任务 or obtained from 秘宝 Boxes, but most must be created at the AM 终端 in the BLADE区. 芯片 typically require Materials and 有可爱的一面 Resources to create. The AM 终端 can also be used to upgrade battle traits.
芯片 are 分裂 into five categories: 武器 芯片, 防具 芯片, Doll 武器 芯片, Doll 防具 芯片, and Doll Frame 芯片.
Each category contains a number of Augment Types. Each Augment Type contains a number of Augment Effects. Augment Effects can be created at different power levels, denoted with Roman Numerals. The typical progression is I, V, X, XV, XX. 芯片 acquired through means 其它 than crafting, as well as battle traits, can have power levels that fall between these numbers, such as 回避提高 III.
