米拉

米拉 (English dub: /ˈmɪər.ə/) is a planet and the main setting of 异度神剑X. It is about 400 square kilometers and consists of five distinct continents surrounded by an ocean. They are regions 分裂 into Areas, Landmarks, Unexplored Territories, Scenic Viewpoints, and FN点. The name of the planet comes from 米拉 Torres, the former 总裁 of Project Exodus, or the Earthlife Colonization Project, who refused to leave Earth before its destruction.

At the beginning of the game the 白鲸, carrying NLA, crashes onto the surface of 米拉 after being attacked by the Ganglion. In parallel to Mira's continents, NLA is a main location 分裂 into regions as well themselves 分裂 into landmarks.

NLA is located in central 原初荒野 which is joined by land to 夜光森林 and 忘却溪谷. 黑钢大陆 and 白树大陆 are north of 原初荒野 across a stretch of water. The seas can be traversed on foot or by Doll, connecting all the continents.

Regions

Regions consists of the five continents and the districts of NLA. They are known as Zones in the Japanese version. The visited Region name is displayed on the first location field on the top of the screen. Each Region has its own map, 分裂 into hexagonal segments; this is the Segment Map that is displayed on the Wii U Gamepad.

These Regions do not appear in the segment map and mostly do not have subdivisions.

Time and weather

The appearance expressions of lands of 米拉 change second by second, by the passage of time, at dawn, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, 夜间 and midnight. One real life second equals one in-game minute. The life of the NLA residents also evolve with passing time. The 夜间 can be a special moment to easily encounter dangerous creatures.

The weather also varies on 米拉 with, for example, a sunny or a 阴天 sky, with 雨天, 雷雨, polar 极光 or 彩虹. Each continent has unique weather conditions, from 沙暴 in 忘却溪谷 to 滞空粒子 in 白树大陆.

The party can change the time (hours and minutes) on the Rest Spots of the BLADE camps scattered all over the 米拉 planet.

Intelligent life-forms

There are various intelligent life-forms 其它 than 人类 present on 米拉. The 诺彭 are native to 米拉 and travel in 商人商队. The 码农 are pacifist aliens with highly advanced technologies. The 拜亚斯 are belligerent alien antagonists who are hostile to humanity. L'cirufe is also stated to be native to 米拉, but there is not much more information regarding this race besides L explaining that they perpetually seek new knowledge.

Trivia

The 米拉 name may refer to 米拉, also known as Omicron Ceti under the Bayer stellar designation, a red giant star in the constellation Cetus. The word 米拉 means "wonderful" in Latin, that is why the star 米拉 is also designated as 'Wonderful Star' or 'The Wonderful'.
In Baten Kaitos, another game by Monolith Soft, there is also a place called 米拉, derived from the star 米拉.
On the world map of 米拉, the five continents together form a shape resembling a ship anchor.
