任务 are a game Mechanic in 异度神剑X. Similar to quests in 异度神剑, 任务 are an easy and efficient way for the party to gain EXP, BP, credits, and items such as 防具 and 武器.

Mission Control
The Navigating Settings for the 任务
The 任务 of the BLADE members are given in the form of 任务 that are displayed in a Mission Control.
Looking at the Mission Control allows access to the names of the 任务, the type, and the required BLADE Level displayed as stars. Once the mission is selected, the navigation can be activated in the Mission Control that displays it on your map. Then by using the Navigating Settings for mission on the right of the screen, the destination can be displayed on the map.
Types of 任务
剧情任务
- Main article: 异度神剑X (plot)
剧情任务 are 任务 related directly to the story. There are 12 剧情任务, with each corresponding to a chapter in the storyline. Each one has specific conditions that must be met in order to begin the next Story Mission. All 剧情任务 after 第3章 include the requirement that 艾尔玛 and 琳 be in the party (In Chapters 1-3, they are automatically accepted after the previous, and 艾尔玛 and 琳 are always in the party then), and certain characters cannot be in the party for certain chapters. Once begun, they cannot be abandoned, and no new 牵绊 任务 may be started until the Story Mission is complete. They are always accepted in the BLADE HOME.
牵绊 任务
牵绊任务 marker

牵绊任务 feature cutscenes and fully voiced dialogue. Most unlock party members, allow Cross to learn 其它 characters' signature arts, or are required to begin specific 剧情任务. Once begun, they cannot be abandoned, and no new Story or 牵绊 任务 may be started until the current one is complete.
Normal 任务

普通任务 are requests to solve the personal problems of the residents of NLA. These 任务 typically have several objectives, and can be received by talking to NPCs who have a "?" icon over their head.
Basic 任务

基础任务 refer to 任务 accepted from the Mission Control, and are listed there on a semi-random basis. Even if all prerequisites for a 基础任务 are completed, the mission might not immediately appear on Mission Control. They are known as SimpleQuests in the Japanese version.
Squad 任务

团队任务 refer to 任务 related the Network's Squad involving online multiplayer. These 任务 may be completed with 其它 players online, or by oneself with NPC companions. These 任务 place the party in a closed off area and give instructions to fight several waves of 敌人. Squad 任务 are started at the Network 中央控制台 inside the BLADE HOME. They each have a minimum required level to participate, and a sync level that any characters (including the player) will be lowered to (temporarily) should it be exceeded. Current 团队任务 must be cleared in order to take on Squad 任务.
世界BOSS battles

世界BOSS battles are a special type of 团队任务 to fight 「幻羽」特雷西亚 or 「零皇」噬灭龙, extremely powerful 敌人 with even higher stats than 珍稀种.

DLC 任务
In the Japanese versions of 异度神剑X, there was content not included with the initial release. The additional content was later released in downloadable content packs, but was integrated into the international release at no additional cost. There are two types of DLC 任务.
DLC 牵绊 任务 come with the four DLC Character (亚莉克莎, 博泽, H.B., and 耶律) packs. Each character comes with three 牵绊 Missions: one that must be required in order to recruit the character, and two that require the DLC character to be in the party. They function identically to normal 牵绊 任务.
DLC Support 任务 come with the three DLC Support packs. These 任务 reward players based on the DLC pack they came from. One DLC pack awards EXP, BP, and Class Rank Points; another awards credits and 米拉矿石; the third awards 牵绊 between party members.
