Monolith Soft (Japanese: 株式会社モノリスソフト, Kabushiki gaisha Monorisu Sofuto, MONOLITH SOFTWARE INC.) is a Japanese video game development company, founded October 1, 1999, that has made video games for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, DS, Wii U, 3DS, 开关 and even cell phones. Monolith was founded by developers Tetsuya Takahashi and Hirohide Sugiura after they left Square and accepted an investment from Namco. As of 2007, Nintendo bought controlling rights from Namco making Monolith Soft a subsidiary for Nintendo. As a result of this, they have a second office in Kyoto to provide support or work on Nintendo games for the Wii, 3DS, Wii U, and 开关. On October 1st, 2019 Monolith Soft celebrates its 20th anniversary. On June 10th, Monolith Soft celebrates the 10th anniversary of the first 异度神剑 and by extension the 异度神剑 series.
