Spessia (Sperantia, "Hope", in the Japanese dub) is a location seen during cutscenes in both 异度神剑 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. It is never an explorable location in either game, but important story events transpire there.
Story
After the destruction of Torna, Spessia was an evacuation destination for Tor楠 refugees led by Addam's militia. Addam needed to travel to the 精灵 Crucible Elpys in Leftheria, and asked Lora in his stead to travel to Spessia and request that Addam's militia relocate to Leftheria with him. Lora, Jin, Haze, and Mikhail arrived at the Spessia refugee camp moments before the attack by Indoline Praetorium forces under orders from the newly installed Praetor Amalthus.
Jin and Lora were separated from Haze and Mikhail in the attack. Lora was mortally wounded during the attack, prompting the desperate Jin to use Lora's dying body to become a Flesh Eater so their memories together would not be lost. As Lora died, Haze returned to her Core Crystal. Both Mikhail and Haze's Core Crystal were taken to the Praetorium, where Mikhail was turned into a Blade Eater and Haze was reawakened by Amalthus as Fan la Norne.
Trivia
- Spessia is the Piedmontese word for "spice", plant substances that are used for food flavoring, while its Japanese name, Sperantia, is the Latin word for "Hope".
- Due to its similar naming as the Titans, it is believed Spessia was another Titan as well, and if it was destroyed, it would be the third Titan destroyed during the Aegis War.
