Pros
- Graphics seem updated from base game, areas look more polished and clean.
- Most Characters have decent personalities and benefits going for them.
- New Battle System is great, and streamlines the battle system from the base game. Also is more fitting for a short game. Switching was very tactically rewarding, and allows you to get away with a ton of stuff despite only having Haze for heals.
- Torna is fun to explore, with varied environments. All on one titan!
- Gormott returns.
- Plot managed to introduce characters you could bond with. (Despite knowing that Torna would take a nose dive.)
- The story can be experienced without playing XB2, and doesn't spoil that many plot points, aside from Amalthus. It even kept Jin's Flesh Eater plot point hidden, which was kudos.
- Some very keen XB2 players can connect the dots with this game. Such as Zettar most likely being the person who began the Tantal Royal Family under Addam's guise.
- Addam didn't suck.
- Songs that were new/remixed were beautiful, expected from 异度神剑.
- Worthless Pouch Items gone, if you want items, you had to actually go and work for them.
- Voice Acting was much better then XB2's was. No more flashbacks of Rex screaming.
- Ending made me shed a tear.
- Several conveinences, such as Aux Cores.
- Gort.
- Campsites were fun to use, and gave all the characters (Even Aegaeon) personality.
- Minoth was worth his weight in gold.
- The Final Boss was the coolest thing in the history of everything. I love Mechanic used only for the final boss that don't feel forced.
- Field Checks felt fair, because you always had the Blades for the job, but it was up to you to level it up.
- More Voice Lines!
Cons
- Gormott felt underused, and felt empty.
- Community was torture, and made me dread talking to people, and few rewards for doing it.
- 剧情任务 that force you to raise Community.
- There was very little post game content, I couldn't find any 敌人 higher then 55, and the Final Boss was 50/53. Would it have hurt to add in something worth grinding for?
- Personally wished we could get Haze/Jin/Malos as blades in the main game, but I understand why we didn't.
- Certain characters felt useless/underused, such as Rhandallis and the King of Torna.
- Sidequests were almost always the same, especially next to XB2. Collect X, talk to Y. Go through Community Tab. These were forced due to Community requirements.
- Untapped 潜力, such as several 其它 Aegis War battle sites.
- Game's story felt rushed, but this is fine compared to the length of the game.
- It felt 郁闷 trying to ration out WP for both Vanguard and Main Arts.
- Switching wasn't really needed until Level 20, which is too much free space.
