The Union 攻击 is a battle Mechanic in 异度神剑: Future Connected. It is a powerful attack performed by the Ponspectors who assist the party. It replaces the Chain Attack of the main game.
Description
Each Ponspector team is comprised of four 诺彭. Once the player has at least one member of each team, a full Party Gauge can be used to unleash a Union 攻击. All currently recruited Ponspectors take part in a Union 攻击 (regardless of team affiliation), but there are three variations to choose from (one for each team), each with extra effects.
- Red Comet - deals major damage to one 敌人.
- Blue Caress - heal and grant Regen. and 弱化无效 to allies.
- Yellow Chaos - force Daze and Strength Down on 敌人 in area.
The Union 攻击 is a series of QTE's, each with its own animation, where the player has to press B in sync with the prompts to increase its strength. The strength of each 攻击 also depends on the amount of 诺彭 of the corresponding team the player has recruited.
The starting animation has a seemingly random party member (which can even be a reserve member) initiating an attack and calling upon the Ponspectors for help. The corresponding animation plays (Blue Caress has the Ponspectors entertain the main characters; Red Comet begins with a Pterix flying and dropping the Ponspectors as bombs onto a target; and Yellow Chaos has the Ponspectors lure a Gogol into the fray) and, at its end, a smokescreen rises in the background as the calling character appears with the Ponspectors in the forefront. The colour of the smoke reflects the variation chosen at the beginning of the 攻击.
Occasionally, the player may be given an "Extra Chance", where the player may choose a second Union 攻击 to use (with the restriction that the previously used one becomes unavailable). This second 攻击 sees Kino, Melia, Nene and Shulk attack the target before switching to the Ponspectors' animation corresponding to the selected 攻击. At the end, all rescued Ponspectors and four character members appear on the forefront as the coloured smokescreen rises in the background.
Trivia
- After using Comet 攻击, one of the Ponspectors will be blown off the screen, leaving a red smoke trail as behind them as they rise.
