异度神剑X (plot)

The future doesn't belong to you! For those who have not completed games in the 异度神剑 series, this page contains spoilers regarding the plot. Discretion is advised.

The events of 异度神剑X take place over the course of a prologue, twelve chapters, and an epilogue. During these chapters, major events in the overlying story take place. Each chapter is represented in game as a Story Mission. The progression of the story is independent of side 任务, although 牵绊 任务 can only be accepted between chapters, not while the events of a chapter are ongoing.

Prologue: Awakening

Earth under attack

The game begins showing two alien races fighting a massive battle over Earth in July 2054. Due to the imminent war, the Coalition government launched the Project Exodus, namely the Earthlife Colonization Project. The planet is left devastated and humanity seeks out new worlds in massive interstellar arks. Unfortunately, most of these ark ships are shot down while trying to escape Earth's gravitational field, and only a few make it out.

The 白鲸 crashing into 米拉

After two years journeying through space, the aliens' pursuit forces find the 白鲸, the American ark ship, and attack it as it approaches a planet called 米拉. 感谢 to the efforts of the military and 艾尔玛's superior, the attack is repelled; however, the fierce battle causes massive damage to the engine of the 白鲸, and the ark ship crashes on the planet. Many of the cryogenically frozen 人类 aboard are ejected in escape pods, which then scatter over a wide area on the planet. Presumably as a safety precaution against an occupant awakening in a hostile environment, the pods keep their occupants in stasis until manually activated from the outside.

Meeting 艾尔玛 for the first time

Gameplay begins two months after the 破坏, when 艾尔玛 awakens Cross from one of these pods near 流星之谷 in 原初荒野 on a stormy 夜间. Soon afterwards, the duo encounters the 「起源」蜚蠊. After defeating it, they venture out of 流星之谷. Upon exiting, the weather changes to a 晴天 day.

Walking into NLA

Cross and 艾尔玛 then make their way to the entrance to NLA, where they encounter the 「成年」狼蜥 and 「幼年」狼蜥. After defeating the Grexes, the duo enter NLA, the city that was being carried by the 白鲸 and the prologue ends.

第1章: NLA

As they enter the city, they see a broadcast of 莫里斯 at BLADE塔 giving a briefing on the retrieval of the pods. 伊莉娜 and 古因 then greet 艾尔玛, who subsequently introduces them to Cross. A dialogue follows, in which it is suggested that 复数部位 pods were found in 流星之谷, but Cross was the 唯一的幸存者. 伊莉娜 and 古因 then leave for an assignment.

琳 rushing to the 破坏 site

Upon entering the 工业区, 艾尔玛 and Cross see a Doll flying. The Doll is seen to be emitting smoke, before crashing not far from 艾尔玛 and Cross's location. Immediately, a young girl, 琳, arrives and begins assessing the cause of the 破坏, as the pilot, 答格, emerges from the Doll in frustration. After assessing the Doll, 琳 greets 艾尔玛 and introduces herself to Cross. She then commands 答格 to put the damaged Doll away and 加入 the party as they head for BLADE总部, much to Doug's annoyance.

Touring NLA

The party flies to the BLADE区. During the flight, 琳 discusses the progress of NLA and points out the different districts of the city. Upon reaching just outside BLADE HOME, the party is greeted by 凪. The four enter the BLADE HOME, where 凪 explains BLADE and its purpose. It is revealed that BLADE is searching for the remaining 生命舱单位 scattered across the planet, which contain 人类 in them. Cross, 艾尔玛, and 琳 then leave the BLADE HOME, and 艾尔玛 and 琳 give Cross a tour of the BLADE区.

The group then head back to the BLADE HOME where 凪 is staying. Once inside, Cross is formally recruited as a BLADE. Shortly after, 凪 introduces them to 开拓网络. They are then tasked with installing the 数据探针 at the closest FN Site.

第2章: The 新的开拓

艾尔玛, 琳, and Cross discover that the FN Site is being guarded by 「追击」沃尔卡姆夫, which they battle. The party then installs the first 数据探针 into the FN Site, activating the 开拓网络.

Upon returning to BLADE, the party meets 凡达姆, who then commends their work. He and 艾尔玛 then introduce Cross to the 部门, at which point the player must choose Cross's affiliation. At this point, side 任务 become available at the Mission Board.

第3章: Builders of a Legacy

凡达姆 reports that a Doll that was being used by a Pathfinder team has broken down in southeast 原初荒野. He appoints 艾尔玛, Cross, and 琳 to investigate the Doll and the Pathfinder team.

Upon arriving at the Doll, the party finds no sign of the team. 琳 also notes that the Doll must have been wounded in battle, but the markings do not suggest wild animals. 琳 then receives a Pathfinder signal from inside a nearby structure, but then detects numerous alien lifeforms. 艾尔玛 notes the orderly, nonrandom nature of the lifeforms' movements, and deduces that they cannot be wild animals, but intelligent lifeforms.

艾尔玛, 琳, and Cross are subsequently confronted by two of these such lifeforms, revealed to be the 拜亚斯. After 艾尔玛 tells the two 拜亚斯 that she and her two partners are 人类 from Earth, the 拜亚斯 immediately demand to know why she would be here. 艾尔玛 realizes from this that they must have already encountered 人类 previously. The two 拜亚斯 then attack the party, with the intent of killing all three.

After defeating the two 拜亚斯, the party infiltrates the nearby structure, which is revealed to be a 拜亚斯 base. Once they enter the base, they find the Pathfinder team killed by the base 领导. The 领导 notices the party's approach and introduces himself as 格伦纳. He also states that 人类 have been intruding on their planet and should consequently be eliminated. 艾尔玛 attempts to explain the circumstances of their arrival, including the 破坏 of their spaceship, and asks that the 拜亚斯 understand and tolerate their situation, but to no avail. 格伦纳 proceeds to attack the party, accompanied by his two 「恶棍」拜亚斯s.

After defeating 格伦纳, the party checks up on the Pathfinder team, then begins to head back to NLA, although 琳 is still concerned that an alien race is bent on destroying humankind on 米拉. As they leave the base, they hear yelling from inside a storage unit nearby, as something is trying to escape the unit. The party 嫌疑犯 that it is another hostile lifeform, but nevertheless investigate, albeit with great caution. Suddenly, one compartment of the storage unit bursts open, spilling out several 未知 items and a 诺彭, 塔兹. As 塔兹 rejoices about his freedom, 琳 notices that he bears similarities to 蔬菜 and wants to use him as one, prompting 塔兹 to lash out at her, especially since the 拜亚斯 would tease the 诺彭 for looking similar to 蔬菜. He mentions his race to 艾尔玛 and confirms that they are not hostile. He eventually allies with the party, although he is wary of 琳, as she will occasionally joke about cooking him throughout the game. He then introduces the party to a 诺彭 creation, the Follow Ball, which then becomes available for Cross to use.

The party decides to take 塔兹 with them to introduce to 凡达姆. After a brief dialogue, they decide to allow 塔兹 to aid BLADE. The player then sees that the number on the BLADE塔 has dropped from 58% to 55%. After this chapter, the player is allowed to do 牵绊 任务 and choose when to start the next chapter.

Chapter Openings (4-10)

Starting with 第4章, each chapter begins with 琳 wanting to cook for the party and asking Cross what to make for them. A comic relief scene between 琳 and 塔兹 follows, with the specific scene depending on 「解」 made. There are six choices, which remain the same for Chapters 4-10, but the player may not choose something that 琳 has already made in a previous chapter (琳 does not finish in 第8章, and 「解」 selected can be selected again in 第9章 or 10). In all six choices, 塔兹 asks what 琳 is making, and 琳 answers his question. However, 琳 eventually suggests that 塔兹 is to be the meat for the dish, to which 塔兹 angrily states that he is not food and accuses 琳 of setting him up. The scene then shifts to the food being served, and only after the food is finished and eaten that it is revealed that 塔兹 was not used. 「解」 are:

• Something fried (Fried chicken)
• Something braised (Meat braised in wine)
• Something baked (Pot pie)
• Something broiled (Tandoori chicken)
• Something stir-fried (Chicken sauté)
• Something fancy (Foie gras)

第4章: The Ganglion Menace

凡达姆 reports that BLADE has found a 生命舱 in 夜光森林, the continent to the west of 原初荒野. Cross, 艾尔玛, and 琳 are tasked with retrieving the 生命舱, and 塔兹 insists on tagging along.

As they leave 原初荒野, the party meets 劳, who is directing a Doll piloted by someone else to insert a 数据探针. After 劳 notes Tatsu's similarities to a vegetable, causing 塔兹 to throw another small tantrum, 琳 introduces herself to 劳. As the party begins to leave, 劳 offers to join them, to which 艾尔玛 accepts. The group of five then set off for the target 生命舱.

While in 夜光森林, the party encounters another alien being, who introduces himself as L, a 米拉 商人 who appears to be familiar with the 诺彭 race. He then insists on aiding the party on their quests. The party then goes to the 生命舱.

When the party arrives at the pod, they find that 拜亚斯 have already begun destroying it. The party defeats the 「毁灭者」拜亚斯s, but are unable to keep the 生命舱 from exploding. After the 生命舱 is destroyed, 歌蒂娅 appears. She reveals that she belongs to the Ganglion, a group of hostile species on 米拉. The Ganglion believe it is their duty to wipe out all the 人类. 歌蒂娅 proceeds to attack the party.

The party manages to defeat 歌蒂娅, but before they can finish her, another mech appears, summoning 歌蒂娅. The mech then flies off with 歌蒂娅 in tow. After discussing the Ganglion threat, the party returns to NLA. L is introduced to 凪 and 莫里斯, who agree to allow L to aid BLADE. 凪, 莫里斯, and 凡达姆 are informed of the Ganglion, and the images of alien mech captured by the database reveal striking similarities to the Doll used by NLA. 莫里斯 declares the Ganglion to be a threat to the 人类.

第5章: 码农 Maneuvers

艾尔玛, Cross, 琳, 塔兹, 伊莉娜, and 古因 check the database, which reveals a spacecraft plummeting into 忘却溪谷, the desert continent to the east of 原初荒野. 艾尔玛, 琳, Cross, and 塔兹 decide to investigate the area.

Upon arriving at the 破坏, 琳 discovers another alien species. 琳 and 艾尔玛 then receive a signal from the aliens, in which it is revealed that they have also encountered the Ganglion. 塔兹 tells them that the aliens are called 码农, and that they arrived on 米拉 about a year before the 人类 did. He also mentions that they have come in contact with the 诺彭. He and the rest of the party then decide to meet the 码农.

When the party goes to greet the 码农, they are first afraid that the 人类 are Ganglion, but 塔兹 says that they are Earthlings, while 艾尔玛 tells the 码农 that the 人类 are also being targeted by the Ganglion. The 码农 then ask the party to destroy three 机s to prove that they can be trusted.

After destroying all three 机, the party reports back to the 码农, but find them under attack from 格罗斯Doll. The party battles the Doll, allowing the 码农 to escape.

After the party defeats the Doll, 塔兹 emerges from a nearby rock and begins a victory dance. One Doll, however, is not fully finished, and fires at 塔兹. Cross rushes to protect 塔兹, but is thrown back as the projectile hits and the mech explodes. 塔兹 is unscathed, but Cross's 左臂 is blown off, revealing wires, blue fluid, and a metal skeleton underneath. Seeing Cross' shocked face, 艾尔玛 realizes that Cross does not know about Mimeosomes. She then informs BLADE of Cross's emergency while 琳 shuts down Cross' functions.

Cross later is powered back up in the 维修中心 in NLA after a new, fully functional 左臂 is installed on them. 艾尔玛, 琳, and 塔兹 greet them, and 艾尔玛 explains to Cross the existence and function of Mimeosomes; she also apologizes for not informing Cross earlier, as she never realized the extent of Cross's amnesia. She also reveals that the number on BLADE塔 is a countdown. As the 白鲸 crashed, part of the ship, which housed the actual 人类, was lost. In fact, all the "humans" in NLA are Mimeosomes. Each Mimeosome is controlled by its corresponding human's consciousness, from their actual bodies stored within the 生命舱核心. The BLADE塔 indicates the remaining time before the 生命舱核心 runs out of backup power and shuts down. Should the countdown reach 0% before another power source is installed to the 生命舱核心, the Mimeosomes will shut down and the 人类 on the 白鲸 will all die.

The 码农 are then introduced to 凡达姆, 凪, and 莫里斯, who decide to allow them into NLA. The 码农 requests permission to dock their ship in NLA, which they imply to have used to travel six million light-years. 莫里斯 consents, and the ship is pulled into the city, to the awe of the citizens of NLA.

第6章: Dark Matters

The chapter begins with a battle between two factions, one of which is the 拜亚斯, the 其它 seemingly wild Monster. The 拜亚斯 are overpowered and the wild animals begin to leave the battlefield. The scene then changes to 歌蒂娅 reporting to 路克萨尔 aboard the Ganglion mothership on how their attempts to retrieve what could lead them to the Great One. Another soldier reports to 路克萨尔 about a proposal. The scene then changes to the standard chapter beginning.

艾尔玛, 琳, Cross, 塔兹, 劳, and L discuss the mechs that do not belong to NLA. The 开拓网络 reports broken mechs from the battle in 夜光森林, along with the Monster from the 其它 faction. 艾尔玛, 琳, 劳, and Cross set out to investigate, while 塔兹 and L stay behind as their non-mimeosome bodies would attract the wild Monster. On their way out, 劳 begins a conversation with 琳. During this conversation, 琳 reveals that her 分裂母体 died before the Earth was destroyed, and she was on the 白鲸 to continue their work.

Upon arriving at the site, they find the Monster still guarding the area, but manage to reach a broken mech to investigate. 艾尔玛 notices that the Doll is running on what she believes is dark matter, indicating it is not an NLA Doll. The team decide to return to NLA. They alert 凡达姆, who sends helicopters to retrieve the Doll.

After the helicopters retrieve the Doll, the party remains at the site. 塔兹 then suggests a quick snack, and takes out a bento. 琳, horrified, immediately scolds 塔兹 for packing food, which could attract wild animals. Unfortunately, the hostile creatures from before reemerge, and attack the party. The party defeats the first few waves, but are eventually overwhelmed. However, a 特雷西亚 appears and easily defeats the remaining Monster. It then turns towards the party, before inexplicably leaving. The team then returns to NLA to investigate the alien Doll. 凡达姆 then announces development of a new model of Doll, 「掠夺」阿瑞斯. At this point, Cross may apply for a Doll驾驶执照.

路克萨尔 summons two members of the Ganglion and tasks them with retrieving the lost Doll.

第7章: Treachery

艾尔玛 asks about Irina's whereabouts, and 凡达姆 answers that her team has found a 生命舱 in 忘却溪谷. 艾尔玛, 琳, Cross, and 塔兹 decide to go and help 伊莉娜, in the case of a Ganglion 奇袭作战. Meanwhile, BLADE Tower's countdown has dropped to 27%.

伊莉娜's team, which includes 古因 and 马库斯, finds a group of alien mechs close to the location of the 生命舱. 艾尔玛 and the party arrive, and 艾尔玛 tells 伊莉娜 to 防守 the 生命舱 while she takes care of the mechs. After defeating the mechs, the party returns to 伊莉娜, who is at the 生命舱 with 马库斯. 伊莉娜 is about to open it, when 艾尔玛 suddenly tells her to get away from it. Right as 伊莉娜 jumps off the rock, Ganglion mechs attack, setting fire to the 生命舱. The lead mech, 阿尔曼达, is revealed to be piloted by 歌蒂娅. She reveals that the Ganglion are 觉醒 of mimeosomes and that the 生命舱 is running out of backup power. After defeating her, 艾尔玛 then explains to a shocked 伊莉娜 about the Ganglion and their motives. 伊莉娜, 古因, and their team then return to NLA, with the party following soon afterwards to report to 凡达姆. By the end of this chapter, BLADE Tower's countdown has reached 20%.

第8章: The 收集 Storm

Although the standard chapter beginning starts, a siren sounds throughout NLA before 琳 finishes preparing ingredients, signifying 正在接近 敌人 factions. BLADE then assembles in front of BLADE塔 while the Ganglion is seen 正在接近 the city. BLADE, with the help of the 码农, prepare for the 敌人 袭击. After the meeting, 艾尔玛, 琳, Cross, and 塔兹 meet in BLADE Headquarters to develop NLA's defense strategy. 艾尔玛, Cross, and 琳 will 防御 the 东门; 伊莉娜 will 防守 the 西门; 劳 will 防守 the alien mech in the 停机库; 答格 will direct the backup forces until 敌人 vehicles are identified; and 塔兹 and the 诺彭 will maintain supply lines.

The party assembles outside NLA's 东门 to confront the Ganglion. Meanwhile, 凡达姆 mobilizes the first line of defense. The party then defeat several waves of Ganglion. After defeating several waves of land-based Ganglion, the party receives a signal from BLADE Headquarters, then realize that the 主色调 Ganglion ship, a 至强母舰, is 正在接近 the city, flying over the city walls. 劳, who is guarding the 格罗斯Doll retrieved from 夜光森林, orders his team to mobilize, as guarding the 格罗斯Doll would do no good should the Ganglion succeed in their invasion.

Meanwhile, 敌人 mechs have dropped from the 至强母舰 directly into NLA and begun destroying it. While watching the carnage, the invasion 领导, 莱兹 and 达甘, decide to participate in the battle, with 莱兹 summoning a 伤害护甲 around them and then smashing into the 商业区. When the party arrives, they see 达甘 effortlessly and singlehandedly defeating two NLA Doll. 艾尔玛, Cross, and 琳 proceed to battle 莱兹 and 达甘.

Upon defeat, 莱兹 causes an 爆炸 in the BLADE区. 艾尔玛 subsequently receives a message from 伊莉娜, stating that the Ganglion have managed to reclaim their Doll. It is revealed that the two 路克萨尔 summoned at the end of 第6章 easily overwhelmed the faction guarding the Doll, before summoning three aircraft to tow it out of the city. As the two leave, 加·德尔格 expresses regret having to destroy the city.

伊莉娜 then appears to report casualties faced by the Doll 部门, including 马库斯. Afterwards, the party meets with 凡达姆 and 劳 to discuss the loss of the alien Doll. After some contemplation, 艾尔玛 begins to grow suspicious of 劳 and his motives for abandoning the Doll. The chapter ends with 路克萨尔 being given the retrieved Doll.

第9章: Warriors of Wroth

凡达姆 reports that another 生命舱 has been found, this time in 白树大陆, north of 原初荒野. 琳 嫌疑犯 that 白树大陆 may be a base for the Ganglion. Cross, 艾尔玛, and 琳 decide to check on the 生命舱. Meanwhile, BLADE Tower's countdown has dropped to 14%.

Upon arriving in 白树大陆, the party finds 劳 collapsed beside a rock. 劳 tells them that he was confronted by Ganglion. He tries to help, but 琳 convinces him to rest until his wounds have healed. 劳 then directs 艾尔玛 a little further north to the 生命舱.

After a while, 艾尔玛 begins to 嫌疑犯 something is wrong, and asks 琳 if she can pick up any signals. 琳 suddenly receives an alien signal, before 复数部位 mechs descend, surrounding the party. 加·德尔格 and 加·博 appear. They introduce themselves as 拉斯, who have allied with the Ganglion, before telling the party to stand down. 艾尔玛 tells the party to comply, and they put away their 武器 (塔兹 takes off his 眼镜/眼镜 and puts them on the ground). 加·德尔格 has orders to take the party to 路克萨尔, who 艾尔玛 deduces to be the Ganglion leader's name. When asked why they are aiding the Ganglion, 加·德尔格 reveals that 路克萨尔 is threatening to use the 拉斯 as cannon fodder. 加·德尔格 also reveals the Ganglion's motive for destroying the humans: they fear the humans' true bodies, but not the Mimeosomes. After discussing the situation of both the 人类 and 拉斯, 加·德尔格 and 加·博 consider the possibility of calling a truce with the 人类, but decide to battle the party first to test them, to which 艾尔玛 complies.

Upon defeat, 加·德尔格 acknowledges the prowess of the party. He then reveals that the Ganglion's base is located on the continent to the north before flying off, and 艾尔玛 receives a report that 劳 has safely been transported back to NLA.

劳 later wakes up in NLA, having been transported back to the Maintenance Center, and is greeted by 答格.

路克萨尔 is contacted by 加·德尔格, who, after battling 艾尔玛, Cross, and 琳, decides to dissolve the Wrothian-Ganglion alliance, much to Luxaar's anger. 加·德尔格, prince of the 拉斯, and 加·博 are then seen rallying the 拉斯 after declaring their independence from the Ganglion, while 加·博 notes a change in Ga Jiarg's personality.

第10章: The 诸法戈 Menace

凡达姆 tells 艾尔玛, Cross, 琳, and 塔兹 that he has received reports that the Ganglion have a spy in BLADE. The group agrees to track down the spy. They also discuss the information 加·德尔格 told the party, about Ganglion's base being in 黑钢大陆, the continent north of 白树大陆. Meanwhile, the BLADE countdown has reached 9%.

莱兹 and 达甘 are seen surveying a new Ganglion spacecraft, the 诸法戈. They then pilot it out of the Ganglion base, with the intent on using it against the Earthlings. A Ganglion reports to 路克萨尔 that 莱兹 has taken the 诸法戈.

As the party continues to connect 数据探针 to the 开拓网络 in 白树大陆, 琳 becomes concerned that there has been no sign of the 生命舱核心. While 艾尔玛 assures that the 生命舱核心 is safe, 琳 breaks down with apprehension. 艾尔玛 tells her not to worry too much and comforts her.

The 诸法戈

Just as they finish connecting the 数据探针, they encounter the Ganglion ship piloted by 莱兹. 莱兹 then claims she will 消灭 the 人类 using the ship. The party proceeds to battle the 诸法戈 ship. After Cross, 艾尔玛, and 琳 manage to defeat the ships spawned by 诸法戈, 莱兹, in frustration, transforms the ship into a large quadrupedal robot with a semi-humanoid 上身 and arms with bat-like wings, which begins to move south of 白树大陆 and towards NLA.

Before it can reach Sylvalum's southern border, the 诸法戈 falls, as 莱兹 realizes the Earthlings' power in disbelief. She and 达甘 are subsequently consumed in an 爆炸 as the 诸法戈 is destroyed. As the 诸法戈 falls, 艾尔玛 reflects on Ga Jiarg's comment that the Ganglion feared the original form of 人类.

第11章: Consequences

Since all 「解」 for the chapter openings have been chosen at this point, Cross is given different choices for the chapter opening. Regardless, 琳 ends up putting 塔兹 in a pot while putting salt into the water. Suddenly, the four are summoned to the Doll warehouse, with the only information supplied being that 劳 is there.

凡达姆 and a BLADE team confront 劳. After 艾尔玛, Cross, 琳, 塔兹, 答格, 伊莉娜, and 古因 arrive, 劳 reveals that he stole a data 终端 with important intel and that he is the Ganglion spy. 答格 prepares to shoot him, but 凡达姆 warns him that he has got the data on him and cannot risk damaging it. He then steals the 「掠夺」阿瑞斯, with the intent of giving it to the Ganglion.

凡达姆 then reports that the 生命舱核心 can be located using all collected data, which excites 琳 and 塔兹. However, 劳 stole the data 终端 necessary to find the 生命舱核心, prompting the party to travel to the Ganglion base in 黑钢大陆 to confront him. Meanwhile, BLADE塔 now shows 5%.

劳 explains how only certain people are chosen

Upon arriving at the Ganglion base, 艾尔玛 checks for signals and confirm that the 「掠夺」阿瑞斯 is nearby. The party manages to infiltrate the Ganglion base, but a siren mobilizes all Ganglion lines of defense. The party makes its way to the heart of the base, where 劳 awaits them. 劳 is excited that they will all be free of a lie once the 生命舱 is destroyed. 琳 asks how that will be free anyone, and 劳 says their flesh and blood burned away with the Earth. 艾尔玛 apparently knows about it, but changes the subject and 劳 prepares to fight them using the Ares.

During the fight, 劳 reveals that his family was not chosen for emigration on the 白鲸 from Earth, and his resentment for the decision to only permit the rich, the connected, and the elite on the Ark Ship fueled his anger towards NLA, and that all the passengers in the 生命舱核心 are no different, causing him to join the Ganglion's objective of eliminating the 人类. He then attacks using the 「掠夺」阿瑞斯.

The party ultimately manages to defeat 劳. 艾尔玛 threatens to kill 劳 for his 背叛, but 琳 stands in her way, unwilling to let 劳 die because of the relationship developed between the two, despite his wrongdoing. Cross ultimately sides with 琳, and their combined efforts convince 艾尔玛 to stand down. 劳, realizing his wrongdoing, gives 琳 the data 终端 needed to find the 生命舱核心, then tells the party to leave him and return to NLA. As the party leaves, 劳 expresses regret towards his actions. The party then reports to 凡达姆 on Lao's circumstances.

第12章: Into the Core

The chapter begins with 莫里斯 announcing to NLA about the discovery of 生命舱核心's location. All members of BLADE are mobilized to 保护生命舱核心。 The 生命舱核心 is revealed to be in the middle of the ocean north of 白树大陆, near 黑钢大陆 Waters. Entire squadrons of Doll, piloted by all the named BLADE members, are subsequently sent to secure the 生命舱核心.

Upon 正在接近 the 生命舱核心, BLADE finds the Ganglion attacking the core. Although a 伤害护甲 deflects most of the attacks, BLADE is still wary of 潜力 damage. Upon reaching the structure, 艾尔玛, Cross, 琳, 伊莉娜, 古因, 答格, L, and 塔兹 enter, while the 其它 Doll stand 防守.

路克萨尔 receives reports that the 生命舱核心 has a trion 伤害护甲 which 路克萨尔 finds to be impossible for 人类 to acess. After receiving reports that the Ganglion are unable to destroy the Core, he resorts to use the 维塔 himself to take care of the matters. He charges the 伤害护甲 with incredible speed and is able to bypass the 伤害护甲.

The party enters 生命舱核心, but do not see the stasis capsules where their bodies are supposed to be. 艾尔玛 explains that what they've been told about their bodies is not the whole truth.

Suddenly, part of the structure explodes, and a Ganglion Doll plows into the 生命舱核心. The Doll is piloted by 路克萨尔, who introduces himself to the party. He then enters his Doll, 维塔, to battle the party. The Ganglion's motive is also fully revealed. 人类 are the descendants of a powerful race known as the samaarian. The Samaarians also created the Ganglion as 仆人. Having anticipated the possibility that the Ganglion would grow out of 魂控, the Samaarians built a failsafe into the Ganglion, making them critically vulnerable to a certain aspect of the former. 人类, as descendants of the samaarian, pose this same threat to the Ganglion.

The mech is eventually defeated and explodes, slowly sinking into the pool of protoplasmic fluid in the 生命舱核心. 塔兹, L, and 琳 consider throwing a party to celebrate the Ganglion's defeat. 艾尔玛 then resumes her explanation from before, she says that the 机 at the ceiling is a supercomputer that has all their consciousnesses are recorded. It has every essences of all the passengers they brought with them from Earth. The actual bodies of each lifeform was destroyed in the battle on Earth, but they lived on as data until they can be moved back into real bodies. 艾尔玛 reveals capsules of DNA for all Earth lifeforms on the 白鲸, and the information can be used to restore the original lifeforms. Dozens of DNA capsules emerge, and 艾尔玛 demonstrates recreation of the original lifeforms by transforming one DNA capsule's information into a cat.

The 其它 party members eagerly await returning to their original forms, but before any 其它 lifeforms can be recreated, 路克萨尔 suddenly emerges, alive, and cripples the computer, which causes numerous Lizards to emerge from their capsule, mutated to have four lips. The Lizards attack the 人类, causing 路克萨尔 to laugh with glee. Suddenly, 劳 appears from above and stabs 路克萨尔 in the back, while the party takes care of the mutated lizards.

After 劳 explains why he deferred back to the 人类, the two fall into the pool. 路克萨尔 realizes that the pool contains human DNA, the critical weakness to the Ganglion, and slowly dissolves in agony as he falls into the pool, coming into contact with more DNA. 劳 leaves 路克萨尔 to drown, and attempts to resurface. However, he becomes possessed by the protoplasm and emerges from the pool as a 奇美拉. He immediately begins to outright destroy the DNA samples, prompting the party to attack. Although 琳 tries to 防御 劳 again, 艾尔玛 states that the Earthlings have suffered enough hardship, and that it needs to end. To 艾尔玛 and Lin's surprise, 劳 agrees with 艾尔玛 since he cannot 魂控 himself. 琳 reluctantly agrees to fight alongside 艾尔玛, but is encouraged once Cross gives her support.

During the battle, 劳 realizes that 路克萨尔 also became one with the protoplasm upon disolving, thus making his memories a part of him. He explains to the party that long ago, the Sammarians created lifeforms to serve them, the Ganglion were among them. He says that the original Ganglion were artificial, and that 人类 are the decendents of their creators.

艾尔玛's true form

Eventually, 劳 is defeated. He explains that the Ganglion were inplanted with a failsafe by the Sammarians in case they ever turn against them, and the key to that failsafe is the 人类 real bodies, which is way they fear them. He gives his last words regarding the future of humankind, before dissolving into a golden shower. 琳 then finds that the 生命舱核心 system is intact, allowing BLADE to restore human life. The party then begins to restore the system. As the party begins to activate the backup power system, 艾尔玛 explains that exactly one Mimeosome is being controlled from a real body in stasis. 艾尔玛 then inputs a code on her Mimeosome, shutting it down. The party rushes to her 郁闷, but then hear Elma's voice. In the center of the platform, Elma's true body emerges, revealing that she is the alien she mentioned. She apologizes for having acted under a 休闲校服/变装制服 the entire time, but is reassured that nothing would change just because of her different body. 艾尔玛 activated the backup power system, 凪 then contacts the party, congratulating them on ridding of the Ganglion threat and finding the 生命舱核心. The party then returns to NLA.

Epilogue

Some of Elma's backstory is revealed. She first arrived on Earth in the late 2020s, thirty years prior to the events of the game, warning of the war between alien races. With the help of 凪, 艾尔玛 supplied 人类 with technology, including Doll, Mimeosomes, and faster-than-light spacecraft. 琳 believes the Earth is still alive and the 白鲸 was not the only ark that escaped, and that one day humanity can set out to search for the planet they 被舍弃了.

After the credits roll, 艾尔玛 enters 生命舱核心 along with 耶律 and 其它 回收部 on an extraction mission, while 凪, 莫里斯, and 凡达姆 oversee the mission from NLA. 艾尔玛 enters the room with the database of everyone's consciousnesses, but discovers it in ruins. Furthermore, the damage seems to have occurred during the initial crash-landing on 米拉. This leaves BLADE clueless, as the destruction of the 生命舱 Core's database chamber should have killed them all months ago, yet they are all still functional and, presumably, alive. 艾尔玛 speculates that 米拉 itself must have something to do with the preservation of their consciousnesses.

The final screen of the main story (Japanese version)

The scene then shifts to a beach. Lao's Mimeosome is seen lying on the sand, and is approached by an unidentified character. Suddenly, his eyes open. The screen then goes black, showing only the words "This story never truly ends...".
